The greens were in great condition and the weather superb as Echuca based Barry Scott starred in Saturday’s golf at Parkland. In a field of 95 Barry carded 40 points to take the C Grade trophy while five shots away was Fred Roberts on 35 points. Third went to Kevin Jewell with 34 points. Paul McInnes had a narrow win in A Grade with 36 points with Michael D’Augello next on 35 points. Third was Harry Wayland on 34 points. Harry was the lucky card winner as well. Luke Roberts won B Grade with 34 points. Runnerup was Darren Baird with 33 points. Third went to John Bauerle on 32 points. Jackie Pearce was also a standout for the women winning B Grade with 35 points. Runnerup was Bev Howard on 34 points. Marg Tucker won A Grade with 34 points two shots clear of Nola Arnold on 32 points. Ball winners were Val Hanke, Jan Gentle, Irene Paynter, Pauline Laidlaw, Kathy Bell, Naomi Cartwright, Bob Troy, Lincoln D’Augello, Rick Walsh, Howard Teasdale, Brian Prendergast, Andrew Phillips, David Cartwright, Don McKenzie, Mel Lusher, David Kuiper, Tom McConchie and Chris Harmer.
Sam Attardi shot a round of 60 to record 41 points to win the men’s A Grade trophy on Wednesday. Runnerup was newcomer Tony Potts with 39 points while third went to Paul Price with 36 points. B Grade was won by Bruce Walkeden on 35 points. Runnerup was Graeme Gordon with 33 points. Howard Teasdale was the winner of C Grade with 35 points on a countback from Peter Tindale. Third went to John Thompson with 34 points. Ball winners were Ray Falla, Steve Walsh, Trevor Price, Norm Tucker, Bob Troy,, George Saynor, Ken Risstrom, Vaughan Moss and Mal Baker. The lucky card went to Peter Tindale.
SOCIAL GOLF: Green fee players are welcome to play. Hit off times can be around 1:00 p.m. of a Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday following competition golf. Other days are generally free for time slots. Players must observe Government regulations reference to distancing and sanitizing of hands.
