Another big field took out cards for the traditional “Table Top” stroke event on Saturday at Parkland. Celebrating thirty three years since the building of the Clubhouse Heather Gunstone and Roden Brady will have their names inscribed on the “coffee” table after both having the best net scores in the respective events. Heather won the Womens’ A Grade with 68-15-53. Runnerup was Nola Arnold with 74-16-58. B Grade went to Irene Paynter carding 100-44-56. Runnerup was Lynne McLean with
79-21-58 after a countback from Pauline Laidlaw who was third with 85-27-58.Roden Brady won the C Grade Men’s event with
74-20-54 after a countback from Les Harrison on the same score. Third went to Norm Tucker with 73-19-54. A Grade went to Mark Percy with 68-13-55. David Cartwright was second with
62-6-56 while Doug Cox was third with 69-12-57. B Grade went to Tim Nelson on
72-16-56 after a countback from John Bauerle 71-15-56. Les Mitchell was third with 74-17-57. Ball winners were Mary Trimby, Jan Gentle, Kathy Bell, Denise Hee, Heather Sleeth, Evelyn Cunningham, Faye Roberts, Steve Walsh, Tony Lasini, Howard Teasdale, Tim Richards, David Shaw, Max Jenkins, Tim Hood, Barry Scott, Scott McLennan, Mark Mullins and Fred Roberts. Daphne Jewell won the lucky card draw.
Wednesday’ Men golfers played a stableford event with Doug Cox taking A Grade honors with 34 points. Runnerup was Bob Troy on 33 points after a countback from Ed McQuienn who was third. Mal Baker on 34 points won B Grade after a countback from John MacFadyen and Vin Sleeth in that order. Steve Walsh won C Grade with 37 points. Bob Ferguson on 35 points was second after a countback from Brenton Sheppard on the same score. Ball winners were Kevin Bell, Jason McKenzie, Howard Teasdale, Mark Mullins, John Thompson, Chris Harmer, Ray Coleman, Mick Sullivan and Tony Potts. The lucky card draw went to Doug Cox.
MAJOR COMING EVENTS: Golfers are reminded that the Men’s Club Championships will commence in August. Those wishing to participate must have played five rounds of competition golf since June 1st last year.
Next week there will be vacancies for social golf after the competition has finished. However there is also a group booking commencing midafternoon.
Names for coming events can be enrolled on the notice board at the front of the Clubhouse.
The club is still in COVID 19 restriction mode with players expected to adhere to.

Tuesday ladies stroke event saw A Grade winner Denise Hee with 70-14-58.Denise also had the best scratch score as well as winning the Roma Fraser Memorial Brooch Round No 3. Runner-up was Kathy Bell with 76-17-59. The B Grade winner was Jenni Dixon with 82-24-58. Runner-up was Dulcie Van der Drift with 82-22-60. The C Grade winner was Jan Rayner with 91-33-58, runnerup was Ann McPherson with
90-28-66 on countback from Pauline Laidlaw and Fay Fankhauser who featured in the ball competition with Heather Sleeth, Di Day, Lorna Alchin and Jan Gentle on countback. The lucky card winner was Bev Howard.
